dots & lies is a boundary crossing band from Austria. Heavily influenced by classic hard rock, 2000s nu metal and contemporary rock & metal, the band writes and produces its own music.

In March 2025, Akos Polgardy and Sascha Werner started jamming together on guitar and bass — within a few sessions, the song no tomorrow emerged. It quickly became clear the two had found their perfect songwriting alter egos, and more songs followed in short order. Aki and Sascha decided to form a band — Tomas joined on bass, and the three of them set out to release an EP with what had by then grown to five songs.

In November 2025, their friend Julian Sajak mixed the two singles no tomorrow and phoenix, released in 2025 to tease the upcoming album and introduce the newly named band dots & lies. From January to March 2026, the band mixed and mastered three further songs on their own and added an interlude — the EP truth and 25 reasons was released on March 25, 2026.

The line-up was completed in March 2026 with Adam Ulicny joining on drums. In June 2026, the four of them opened the Altstadt Open Air in Hainburg an der Donau — their first live show. Since summer 2026, dots & lies has been actively looking for further shows and is open to booking inquiries.
